The Ji weapon
In Ancient China horses were the core of the army. They had supreme power over regular foot soldiers and usually completely obliterated the infantry unless they had help from their cavalry. This all change when the Ji weapon was introduced. The Ji weapon was the ultimate weapon for the infantry, as you were now able to take on both the enemy Cavalry and the infantry. The Ji weapon (as you see on the left) had a hooked blade on the right side, a thick hammer on the left side and a spear on the top.

Gong
The Gong was one of the longest severing Chinese military weapons. It lasted for about 1500 years and as Sun Wu said “was the key to pinning down the enemy" in his book, “The Art of War”. The Gong was well know for the distinctive "Thwak" sound it made when fired. It was the most popular weapon for light archers who would either scout ahead of the main force or fire on armies for high up positions.

The Fu
The Fu was mainly a weapon used by Guards or Imperial Security Forces as it was far too heavy for the regular Infantry or Cavalryman. The Fu had two axe blades and a sharp spear through the centre of the blades. It was not used by those of the martial arts as it was too unwieldy and could not be carried under robes or on their backs.
